Real Madrid just cannot put their injury woes behind them. The club have made a bright start to the season, winning all three of their La Liga games till now. But it is hard to feel positive about the current situation, with so many key players out injured. Eder Militao and Thibaut Courtois might end up missing the entire season after tearing their ACLs. Arda Guler has undergone surgery as well. Dani Ceballos and Ferland Mendy are back on the pitch but not training with the team yet.
Now, it looks like another name could be added to the quickly growing Real Madrid injury list. And it is none other than Vinicius Jr.
Vinicius was forced off the pitch in the game against Celta Vigo. He went down holding his hamstring. The Brazilian tried to continue but could not do so. Eventually, he was brought off in the 18th minute.
It is impossible to estimate how long he will be out of action for without knowing the extent of his injury. Real Madrid fans will be hoping that it is nothing serious and we get to see him back on the pitch a few weeks later.
Real Madrid superstar suffers injury against Celta Vigo
Real Madrid managed to win against Celta Vigo, even without Vinicius. Once again, it was Jude Bellingham on the scoresheet, who has made a remarkable start to life in the Spanish capital.
This was Bellingham’s fourth goal in three appearances for Real Madrid. If he scores in the next match, he will match Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored in his first four games for the club.
Of course, Bellingham has been the shining light for Real Madrid at the start of the season. But they need Vinicius in the side as well, if they want to be successful in the 2023/24 campaign.
