Manchester United offer centre-forward to Real Madrid

Real Madrid find themselves in a difficult position right now, with their injury list seemingly increasing after every game. Eder Militao and Thibaut Courtois might not play again this season, having torn their ACLs. Arda Guler recently underwent an operation as well. And now, it remains to be seen what the situation of Vinicius Jr is.

Vinicius appeared to suffer a hamstring injury in their recent game against Celta Vigo. He tried to carry on but was ultimately substituted in the 18th minute of the game.

Initially, the belief was that it was not a major problem and Vinicius would be back soon. Since then, rumours have been floating around though that the issue might be more serious than first thought.

Fans should wait for official word from the club regarding the matter. But if Vinicius does end up on the sidelines for any considerable length of time, then they must try to bring in a replacement in the final days of the summer transfer window.

There appears to be a new name doing the rounds of the rumour mill now. As reported by Defensa Central (via Fichajes), Manchester United has presented an offer to Real Madrid in relation to Anthony Martial.

Martial has been at Manchester United since 2015 but has never quite had his breakout moment. Once considered a future Ballon d’Or contender, at 27 years of age, the Frenchman is clearly in need of a change of scenery if he is to revitalise his career.

Martial has spent time in Spain before, on a loan spell at Sevilla. It was not a particular success though. So it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid do end up making a move for the Frenchman this summer in the scenario that Vinicius is out for a while.
