Cristiano Ronaldo is undoubtedly one of the greatest players ever and perhaps the very best in Real Madrid’s history. He enjoyed a remarkable nine-year run at Santiago Bernabeu. He arrived in 2009 from Manchester United for a then-world-record transfer fee. And he left in 2018 to join Juventus, for the biggest transfer fee that Los Blancos have ever received.

Of course, in those nine years, he set plenty of records on the pitch as well. He is the club’s all-time highest scorer after all.

One of his records could very well be matched next weekend. When Real Madrid take on Getafe at Santiago Bernabeu.

Ronaldo set a club record by scoring in each of his first four competitive games for Real Madrid. Jude Bellingham has got himself at least a goal in all three of his games till now as well. And if he finds the back of the net against Getafe, he would match the Portuguese icon. On current form, you would feel that the odds are in his favour.

Bellingham was always expected to succeed at Real Madrid, but nobody could have seen this blistering start coming. The Englishman has looked like a class apart, not just for the club but in the entire league.

Bellingham scored on his debut against Athletic Bilbao away at San Mames. Then he scored a brace vs Almeria. And just when it was looking like Real Madrid were set to drop points against Celta Vigo, he cropped up with a late winner.

At just 20 years of age, Bellingham looks like the complete midfielder. It is not just his goals but his overall play as well. He is special. There is no doubt about it. And he can write his name on the Real Madrid history books, by matching Ronaldo’s record.
