Real Madrid find themselves in a situation they surely would not have wanted to be in. The club clearly lack depth all across the pitch and on top of that, three of their best players are out of action right now in the form of Eder Militao, Thibaut Courtois and Vinicius Jr. The first two might not even play again this season while the latter is expected to remain on the sidelines for about six weeks.

Real Madrid had not done enough to replace Karim Benzema in the first place. And now, Vinicius is injured as well. Thus, they are in a bad situation going forward.

Ideally, the club would go out and bring in another forward to fill the significant void up top. Who could fill their needs at the moment while also being a valuable player for Los Blancos in the future?

Julian Alvarez is someone who would fit the bill. He is capable of playing as a centre-forward, a second striker or even on the wing, and would thrive in Carlo Ancelotti’s 4-4-2 system. The Argentine has been linked with a move to Real Madrid quite a few times in the past.

Alvarez is just 23 years of age but has pretty much won everything that there is win in football already. Could a move to Real Madrid lie in his future?

If Real Madrid had actually made a push for Alvarez earlier in the summer, it might have been possible. He did not play regular football for Manchester City last season and Erling Haaland was clearly first-choice striker.

Things appear to have changed for Alvarez this season though. He has started all three of their Premier League games till now. Thus, there does not seem to be much incentive for him to leave anymore.
