A number of players have represented both Manchester United and Real Madrid, arguably the two biggest clubs in world football, over the years. Names like Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Casemiro, Raphael Varane, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Angel Di Maria come to mind immediately, while there are quite a few more on that list.

Now it looks like another name is set to be added to that illustrious list. It is that of none other than Sergio Reguilon.

Manchester United are looking for a left-back right now following an injury picked up by Luke Shaw. And it looks like Reguilon is set to join them on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

As reported by The Athletic, Reguilon has completed his medical with Manchester United ahead of a loan move. The Tottenham Hotspur left-back’s move is a season-long loan with no fee or option to buy included.

Reguilon came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid and even though he played a bit of football for the senior team as well, he was never able to quite find his feet at Santiago Bernabeu. After a successful season on loan at Sevilla, Tottenham Hotspur signed the Spanish left-back.

Reguilon has had a patchy time at Tottenham Hotspur. There were points when he seemed very important to the team. But now, he seems to be out of the picture.

Reguilon spent the previous season on loan at Atletico Madrid. And now, he is headed to Manchester United on a temporary basis as well. To be fair to him, those are two huge clubs.

It remains to be seen how Reguilon does at Manchester United. If he can impress, it would give his career a much-needed boost. And who knows, he might end up joining them on a permanent basis in the future.
