Real Madrid have changed their transfer policy in recent years from signing established superstars to bringing in high-potential talents from all around the globe. The likes of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Fede Valverde were all signed while still teenagers and gradually developed into first-team starters. Of course, there have been moves which have not worked out as well. Reinier Jesus is yet to make an impact.

Last year, Real Madrid agreed a deal with Palmeiras for Endrick, who will arrive in the Spanish capital in the summer of 2024, when he turns 18. The transfer package is worth up to €60 million including variables.

However, Endrick is going through a difficult season. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 7 goals and provided an assist in 35 appearances in this campaign.

That is a spectacular tally for most 17-year-olds. But not for the Brazilian wonderkid who is tipped to be a future Real Madrid star, and has drawn comparisons with Ronaldo Nazario and Neymar.

Endrick appears to have failed to impress current Palmeiras manager, Abel Ferreira, enough to be a regular starter. He has chosen to play the likes of Rony and Jose Lopez ahead of the future Real Madrid striker.

Endrick got some game time off the bench in the second leg of the Copa Libertadores quarter-final against Colombian side Deportivo Pereira as Palmeiras were already 4-0 up on aggregate. He was not able to find the back of the net though as the game finished in a goalless draw.

On the other hand, Vitor Roque, another Brazilian wonderkid who was recently signed by Barcelona, has been on top form for his side Athletico Paranaense. The 18-year-old has 19 goals to his name this season, with several being crucial ones for his team.

Despite these Brazilian youngsters not even pulling on their future club jerseys yet, the comparisons have started already. That was always expected to happen.

At this point in time, Roque certainly seems to be ahead of Endrick. It is important to remember though that the future Real Madrid striker is still just 17 years of age. He has plenty of time to develop his game and find his feet at the senior level. The talent is unquestionable.
