Real Madrid might have actually pulled off a bargain with their move for Jude Bellingham in the summer. The Englishman has been incredible over his first four competitive games for the club, scoring late winners for fun and already equalling a record that was set by a certain Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is arguably the best player in Real Madrid history. Thus, it is safe to say that Bellingham is keeping good company. The fact that he is not a striker makes his feat even more impressive.

Ronaldo scored in each of his first four games for Real Madrid in the Spanish top flight, which was a club record. Bellingham has now equalled that. They also have the same number of goals at this stage, five each.

Of course, Ronaldo went on to score 450 goals for Real Madrid in total. Nobody is expecting Bellingham to match that. But if he can get to even half of that number, he will go down as one of the greatest players in the club’s history.

Bellingham equals Real Madrid icon Ronaldo’s record

Bellingham equalled Ronaldo’s record under the most dramatic circumstances possible. The score between Real Madrid and Getafe was tied at 1-1 in the 95th minute of the game. It looked like a certain draw.

The headlines had been written, surely many were getting ready to criticise the performance and the result. And then up stepped Bellingham, scoring the winner in the 95th minute of the game. The hero in the royal white jersey once again. He must be getting used to it by now.

It is easy to forget that Bellingham is just 20 years of age. We are quite clearly looking at a very special player here. One who has the talent and ability to go down in the history books of Real Madrid. In fact, he has already started to do that.
