Once again, Real Madrid were linked with a move for Kylian Mbappe this summer. And once again, the rumours led pretty much nowhere. It had looked like the Frenchman was on his way out of PSG for a while but now there are suggestions that he could even be open to signing a new contract with the club, in an interesting turn of events.

Of course, that is a blow to Real Madrid’s hopes of signing him as a free agent next summer. And also raises questions about whether a move for Mbappe is going to happen in the future or not.

Amidst all this, they are being linked with another one of world football’s biggest stars in the form of Erling Haaland. Many believe that the Norwegian is a better player than Mbappe. He is one of the frontrunners for the Ballon d’Or this year and is coming off of a historic Treble-winning campaign with Manchester City, in which he scored 52 times.

It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid will turn their attention towards Haaland. It is a positive that he already has friends in the Spanish capital.

Haaland comments on Real Madrid star’s Instagram post

Haaland commented on a recent Instagram post from Bellingham:

"What a guy🙏🏻"

Of course, the two played together during their time at Borussia Dortmund and appeared to strike up a great partnership on the pitch. Bellingham moved to Real Madrid this summer and has made a historic start to life at Santiago Bernabeu.

His 95th-minute winner against Getafe was his fifth goal in four matches for Real Madrid. He has also scored in each of those games, equalling a record set by Cristiano Ronaldo when he had joined the club back in 2009.

So, the sky seems to be the limit for Bellingham at Real Madrid. Could he be joined by Haaland in the future?
