Real Madrid player comments on Kylian Mbappe move

The Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid transfer saga is nothing new and has been going on for years at this point. This summer, it had looked like the Frenchman looked destined to leave PSG over his contract situation and in that scenario, Santiago Bernabeu would be his most likely destination. But then, things took another twist.

Mbappe has been brought into the first-team fold at PSG since then. And there are even suggestions that he could be open to signing a contract extension with the French club now.

That would any end hopes that Real Madrid might have had of signing Mbappe as a free agent next summer. It remains to be seen what the future holds.

While there are suggestions that Mbappe could extend his deal with PSG. But nothing has happened in that regard yet. Also, there are rumours that even if he signs a new contract with the Ligue 1 champions, there would be an exit clause for 2024.

Real Madrid player comments on Mbappe move

Aurelien Tchouameni is someone who knows Mbappe well. And he was recently asked about his French international teammate.

As reported by AS, when asked about Mbappe and whether or not he could have signed for Real Madrid in the past summer transfer market, Tchouameni said:

"“It was a possibility in summer.”"

Tchouameni further went on to add about Mbappe:

"“Every club in the world wants him. Now he’s at PSG, so we’re not going to talk any more about it. We are very happy with what we have right now.”"

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Mbappe. Despite the events of the past summer transfer windows, it feels like the Frenchman is destined to pull on the Royal White jersey one day.

There was a lot of speculation about Tchouameni’s own future at Real Madrid this summer after he appeared to lose his place in the starting XI in the second half of last season. But he seems to be very much back in the mix now after Carlo Ancelotti has changed formations and is using a 4-4-2 with a midfield diamond right now.
