Vinicius Junior’s recent injury came as a major blow for Real Madrid. The club are already lacking in depth all over the pitch, but especially in the forward areas. With Karim Benzema leaving the club at the end of last season and no world-class replacement being brought in for him, the Brazilian is the best source of goals that Los Blancos have right now.
Jude Bellingham has stepped up to the plate for sure, scoring five goals in four appearances for Real Madrid so far. But other than him, it is hard to see another reliable goalscorer in the team right now.
Rodrygo has shown signs of promise but it is still unclear whether he can perform as part of a front-two. Also, it remains to be seen if Joselu can find the back of the net consistently when given a run in the starting XI, which he should get with Vinicius out for the foreseeable future.
At the same time, fans will be eager to see Vinicius back on the pitch as soon as possible. When could that happen?
Major update on Vinicius’ return for Real Madrid
As reported by AS, it is not in Real Madrid’s plans to run or risk the slightest, as they are aware that an early return would probably imply a call-up with Brazil for the October break. The key date set for Vinicius’ return is the club’s visit to Sanchez Pizjuan to take on Sevilla.
That match will take place on October 21 or 22. That should give Vinicius enough time to not only recover from his injury but also get into some rhythm in training before getting back on the pitch.
Thus, it looks like Vinicius is not set to return for mote than a month. There will be two international breaks in between that, so he should end up missing too many games.
