The managerial situation at Real Madrid is one of the most interesting things about the club right now. Carlo Ancelotti has done a commendable job in his second stint in the Santiago Bernabeu hot seat, winning every trophy possible. But when his contract runs out at the end of this season, he is expected to leave. There are suggestions that he is destined to take up the Brazil national team job next summer.

Of course, in that scenario, Real Madrid would be in need of a new manager. Recent suggestions have tipped Xabi Alonso as the favourite to be the club’s next head coach.

Alonso has done a superb job since taking over at Bayer Leverkusen last season. They currently sit at the top of the Bundesliga table, ahead of Bayern Munich. The Spaniard also played at Real Madrid, which would work in his favour as well.

There is another former Real Madrid player who has been linked with the Santiago Bernabeu job in the recent past. But at the moment, those chances seem slim. And it looks like he could end up joining another La Liga club instead.

Real Madrid legend given green light to become Villarreal manager

As reported by MARCA, Raul is considering the offer that Villarreal have made him. Real Madrid’s leaders have given him the green light to become the manager of the Yellow Submarine.

Raul is currently the head coach of Castilla. But it is believed that he is intrigued by the project at Villarreal.

Villarreal recently showed Quique Setien the exit door after a bad start, as they have lost three of their four La Liga games till now. This is not a bad squad and had finished fifth in the league in the previous campaign. Of course, it must be pointed out that they lost key players like Pau Torres, Nicolas Jackson and Samuel Chukwueze over the summer.
