Luka Modric has been one of the most influential players for Real Madrid for more than a decade. His legendary corner kick in the La Decima-winning final, from which Sergio Ramos equalised, is still etched in the memories of every Madridista. That does not even begin to describe his greatness, winning five UEFA Champions League titles during his time at the club, and it is not over yet.

The Croatian superstar is a legend and a fan favourite at the Santiago Bernabeu for giving magical performances almost every time he gets onto the pitch. And he is now 38 years of age.

Modric’s phenomenal career at Real Madrid seems to be in its twilight as he is no longer guaranteed a spot in the starting XI this season. The one-time Balon d’Or winner is facing tough competition in midfield, as Los Blancos currently has some of the most talented midfielders in world football.

Naturally, the first name that comes to one’s mind is Jude Bellingham. The Englishman is already a fan favourite, even more so after his late winner against Getafe last weekend. That took his tally to a remarkable five goals in four games for Real Madrid, matching Cristiano Ronaldo. What does Modric think of him though?

As reported by SN (via MadridXtra), Modric said about Bellingham:

"“Bellingham? I have to say Jude has pleasantly surprised me. It was known he was talented, but when you see him up close, you only realize his potential. He really is a top talent. He has sense of the game, he can achieve what he imagines, he also has that ‘personality’. He has all the prerequisites to achieve a great career.”"

The Real Madrid legend also gave his opinion on Arda Guler. While the Turkish wonderkid is yet to mesmerize the Madridistas with his skills due to an injury picked up during pre-season, he seems to have already made a positive impression on Modric.

All things considered, it looks like Real Madrid’s future is in the right hands. It will be interesting to see how much playing time Modric gets this season with so many options in the middle of the park.
