Real Madrid added to their squad over the summer but not enough to fill all of the voids in there. One area where they need to strengthen sooner or later is striker. Karim Benzema left the club at the end of last season and Los Blancos have not really replaced him. Joselu can be a smart signing who gets them quite a few goals. But he is not someone to lead the line for Carlo Ancelotti’s side if they want to compete for all three major trophies.

There were hopes that Real Madrid would sign a world-class forward to replace Benzema. They were linked with names like Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe, Dusan Vlahovic, Randal Kolo Muani and more. But ultimately, the only striker they added was Joselu, on loan from Espanyol.

Erling Haaland is someone who Real Madrid have been linked with recently as well. But it looks like they have their eyes on one of his Manchester City teammates too.

As reported by Fichajes (via Caught Offside), Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Julian Alvarez. Apparently, the Manchester City striker is on Ancelotti’s shortlist.

Alvarez struggled for consistent starts for Manchester City last season. But things have changed this time around, as he looks to be a big part of Pep Guardiola’s plans.

The Argentine is one of the most talented youngsters in the world. He has won everything already at both club and international levels, despite being just 23 years of age. He was even one of the key players in Argentina’s World Cup triumph.

Signing someone like Alvarez would be a great move on the part of Real Madrid. But getting a deal done for the Argentine would be extremely difficult, especially when you consider that he is now getting regular playing time with Manchester City.
