Real Madrid have seen a number of their long-time players leave in recent years. The latest to do so was Karim Benzema. The expectation was that the Frenchman would sign a contract extension with the club but instead, he chose to bring an end to his legendary run at Santiago Bernabeu to join Al-Ittihad.

That leaves Luka Modric and Toni Kroos as the last two standing from the Old Guard. The general feeling is that the Croatian will be the next one to head for the exit door.

Modric’s role in the team has diminished this season. He has started only one of the four league games till now. And he has publicly admitted that he is not content with his current situation. Unsurprisingly, there is speculation surrounding his future at the club.

The Saudi Pro League are rumoured to be keeping an eye on Modric’s situation. And he is not the only one either.

Two Real Madrid players linked with January transfer exit

As reported by Esport 3, Richarlison, Kevin De Bruyne, Jadon Sancho, Mohamed Salah, Paul Pogba, David Alaba and Modric are players the Saudi Pro League are interested in for January.

That is quite the list, to be honest. Some of the best players in the world. As well as youngsters like Sancho, who has lost his way a bit in recent years after joining Manchester United but was once considered a future Ballon d’Or contender.

It will be very interesting to see how things play out regarding the futures of Modric and Alaba. It is not hard to understand why the former might consider an exit. He is not playing much and turned 38 recently. In the case of the latter, he is still a starter for Real Madrid and will hopefully stay put for the foreseeable future.
