Real Madrid have been blessed with some of the best players in history. The team has been particularly strong over the past decade, winning an astounding five Champions League titles during that period of time. One man who has played a part in all of those triumphs is the club’s youth graduate Dani Carvajal.

Carvajal came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid but left early on in his career to join Bayer Leverkusen. But just one season of football in the Bundesliga was enough to convince Los Blancos to bring him back.

Since then Carvajal has been a mainstay at the back for Real Madrid, making less than 30 appearances in only one season. It might not be a coincidence that the club went trophyless in that same campaign.

Naturally, Carvajal has shared the dressing room with some of the best players ever. And now, he has picked his top three.

Carvajal leaves out Real Madrid legend from top 3

As reported by MARCA, when asked on Universo Valdano, the Movistar Plus+ program, about the top three players with whom he has shared a dressing room, Carvajal said:

"“Cristiano, Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric. They are people who talk to you and you have to be with all your five senses, they talk to you and you have to take notes. You see them arriving at 6 in the morning and starting to train… it’s brutal. Luka, on top of that, has been able to lead such a small country to a World Cup final.”"

That is an excellent list for sure. Ronaldo, Ramos and Modric are three of the best players to ever pull on the Real Madrid shirt.

At the same time, some fans might be surprised that Benzema did not make the list. The Frenchman managed to win a Ballon d’Or during his time with Real Madrid and not just that. He left as the most decorated player in the history of the club, alongside Marcelo, as well as the second-highest goalscorer ever behind only Ronaldo.

But at the end of the day, it is Carvajal’s list and it is an excellent one as well. Real Madrid should be happy that so many legends of the game played for the team at the same time.
