Real Madrid could find themselves in search of a new manager in the near future. Carlo Ancelotti has done a fantastic job since returning to the club for a second spell in the hot seat, especially when you consider the circumstances the team finds itself in. They have been dealing with injuries and a lack of depth for a long time now, and yet, the Italian has guided them to every trophy possible over the past two seasons.

There is speculation over the future of Ancelotti though. His current deal runs out in the summer of 2024 and rumours suggest that he will leave then in order to take the Brazil national team job.

Ancelotti has done everything possible in the club game. But he has never managed an international team. Thus, it is not hard to understand why the idea of managing Brazil and potentially guiding them to their sixth World Cup, might appeal to the Real Madrid boss.

On the other hand, Real Madrid are being linked with managers as potential replacements for Ancelotti. And one man they have been constantly linked with his club hero, Xabi Alonso, who is currently coaching Bayer Leverkusen.

Real Madrid are not the only club being linked with the Bayer Leverkusen manager. As reported by Fichajes, one of the names that has emerged as a possible replacement for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool is Alonso.

Those Alonso links have cropped up amidst rumours that Klopp is a potential candidate for the German national team job, after Hansi Flick was shown the exit door. But for the time being, it looks like he will be staying put at Anfield.

Alonso has done a fantastic job at Bayer Leverkusen, as they sit atop the Bundesliga table right now. And a big move away seems to lie in his future. The destination remains unclear.
