Mohamed Salah’s future at Liverpool appears to be in major doubt. The Egyptian icon has been heavily linked with a move to Al-Ittihad lately and it is believed that the Reds turned down a transfer package of around €150 million for him. If he was to leave in the future, the club will need to bring in a replacement for him and they have been linked with Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid.
Vinicius has developed impressively since the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as manager. He has gone from an inconsistent Brazilian wonderkid who had a tough time impacting games to one of Real Madrid’s most reliable sources of goals and arguably the face of the club following Karim Benzema’s exit.
Thus, it is hard to imagine that Real Madrid would consider parting ways with Vinicius anytime soon. And yet, it looks like Liverpool have been offered some hope.
As reported by SPORT, in the case of Vinicius, a door for hope could open on Merseyside. The Brazilian continues without signing the extension of his contract, or at least, it remains without being officially announced and Liverpool will remain waiting as long as there are possibilities of signing him.
Liverpool offered hope in race for Real Madrid superstar
There have been suggestions since last year that Vinicius had already signed a contract extension. And yet, nothing official has been announced yet.
If an extension has indeed been signed, one has to wonder what the delay in its announcement is all about. Initially, there were theories that the club were saving it to lift the mood of the fans when there was a bad result in a big game.
Yet, many such moments have come and gone since then, and no official announcement has been made. Naturally, one has to wonder whether a contract extension has indeed been signed.
