With Karim Benzema leaving at the end of last season to join Al-Ittihad, Real Madrid were left with big boots to fill. And they did not really do enough over the summer. Joselu was signed on a season-long loan from Espanyol and while the Spaniard is in the form of his life right now, it does not feel like he is the man to lead the line for Los Blancos, if they want to compete for all three major trophies.

Real Madrid were linked with plenty of world-class strikers over the summer but did not make a move. Could that change in January?

One player they were linked with Dusan Vlahovic. The Juventus striker struggled last season and was believed to be available for transfer. He has made a brilliant start this time around though and is scoring for fun at the moment.

As reported by Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Real Madrid are interested in Vlahovic and they are closely monitoring the performances of the Juventus striker. They might make an approach for him in the January transfer window.

Considering the form that Vlahovic is in, it is hard to imagine that Juventus would be keen to part ways with him anytime soon. The Serbian has scored 4 goals in 4 appearances this season and provided an assist as well.

He is finally looking like the player Juventus shelled out a transfer fee around €80 million to sign from Fiorentina. And if he can keep performing like this, he might remain in Turin for the foreseeable future.

Juventus were actually believed to be open to letting him join Chelsea in a deal that would see them receive a transfer fee as well as the arrival of Romelu Lukaku in Turin. But it did not materialise, and it looks like it has worked out in their favour.
