Real Madrid appear to be in need of reinforcements in the forward areas of the pitch. The team was already paper thin up top, following the departure of Karim Benzema, and with Vinicius Junior picking up an injury, Carlo Ancelotti has been left with little to no options. Rodrgyo and Joselu have been paired in the 4-4-2 setup.

If one of them gets injured anytime soon, it is hard to think who would be able to play up top. Maybe Brahim Diaz. Is he good enough to be a starter for Real Madrid though?

The summer transfer window is closed and Real Madrid are not known to make signings in the middle of the season. So, they will most probably bring in reinforcements next summer. And it looks like the club already might have some plans in place.

As reported by Fichajes, Real Madrid and Liverpool are leading the competition in the race to sign Rafael Leao. AC Milan are believed to be looking for a transfer fee around €150 million to consider parting ways with the Portuguese international.

Leao recently signed a contract extension with AC Milan. Thus, the Italian club would be under no pressure to let him go anytime soon.

Leao arrived at AC Milan in 2019 and has continuously improved since then. Now 24 years of age, he is considered one of the biggest talents in all of football. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 2 goals and provided 2 assists in 4 Serie A appearances this season till now.

Leao is a fantastic talent without doubt. But it is hard to see where he would fit at Real Madrid. He plays on the left flank but the club already have Vinicius Junior. The arrival of Kylian Mbappe also feels like only a matter of time, even though there might be more twists to come in that long-running saga.
