Real Madrid have been chasing the signature of Kylian Mbappe for years but a move has never quite worked out. Next summer is believed to be when the Frenchman is expected to finally end the long wait and arrive at Santiago Bernabeu. But if that does not happen, Los Blancos would have to look at alternative targets.

The Mbappe saga has been going on for far too long now. Next summer has to be the end of it, one way or the other.

The Spanish giants do not seem to be putting all their eggs in one basket either. As reported by Defensa Central (via Football Espana), Real Madrid are considering a move for Mathys Tel of Bayern Munich if Mbappe does not arrive next summer.

Tel is one of the biggest talents in European football right now. And he is enjoying his breakout campaign right now.

Tel has been scoring for fun for Bayern Munich this season, even though he is not considered a starter in Thomas Tuchel’s side just yet. He is just 18 though and there is plenty of time to take that step.

It is not just that Tel is scoring goals, but he is doing so against quality sides as well. He has found the back of the net against clubs like Manchester United, Borussia Monchengladbach and Werder Bremen already this season.

Tel is a centre-forward but can play on the flanks as well if the situation calls for it. He does have Harry Kane ahead of him in the pecking order at Bayern Munich. On the other hand, Real Madrid have a brilliant recent record when it comes to developing youngsters into superstars. So, if an offer from the Spanish giants did come in, it would be interesting to see what the French wonderkid would do.
