Injuries just refuse to leave Real Madrid alone. Several of their key players are out at the moment. Eder Militao and Thibaut Courtois, two stalwarts in the starting XI, are expected to miss most of the season if not all of it. Vinicius Jr is closing in on a return after being out since last month. And just when Arda Guler looked to be on his way back from the injury he suffered in pre-season, he has picked up another one.

Guler was signed in the summer from Fenerbahce and created quite a stir in the media with his performances in his training. Many reckoned that Real Madrid had pulled off a transfer masterstroke and signed one of the elite talents of the next generation.

We are yet to see Guler in a Real Madrid shirt though. He got injured before making an appearance in pre-season. And the latest injury will further extend that wait.

As reported by the club’s official website. Guler has been diagnosed with an injury to the left rectus femoris muscle. As tweeted out by Jose Luis Sanchez, he could be out for a month.

This is the last thing that Real Madrid needed right now. Carlo Ancelotti’s team have looked pretty one-dimensional when going forward this season till now.

The brilliance of Jude Bellingham has snatched victory from the jaws of a draw multiple times already, but the team cannot continue to rely on one player. There were hopes that someone like Guler could come in and bring some fresh ideas with him.

But it looks like Real Madrid will have to wait a while longer to see Guler in action. The 18-year-old picking up so many injuries is not a good sign for the future either.
