Real Madrid have not made a lot of signings in recent years. But they do have a good track record when it comes to identifying the right talents. That is one of the key reasons why Los Blancos have remained one of the best teams in European football. The likes of Vinicius Jr, Fede Valverde, Rodrygo, Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham were all signed as teenagers.
Another wonderkid is making waves in La Liga this season. Savinho, also known as Savio, is currently on loan at Girona from French Ligue 2 side Troyes.
Girona have proven to be the surprise package in La Liga this season. After six games, they are actually a point ahead of Real Madrid and sit second in the league table. They have the same number of points and goal difference as leaders FC Barcelona.
One of the biggest reasons behind Girona’s success has been the form of Savinho. Unsurprisingly, that has already seen him being linked with both Barcelona and Real Madrid. But he might have his eyes set elsewhere.
Real Madrid target wants to make Manchester City move
As reported by SPORT, Savinho said:
"“I knew that Troyes was the City group and I thought that by working I could one day reach Manchester City. Of course, I will have to do very well here in Girona.”"
Thus, it looks like Savinho is targeting a move to Manchester City in the future. Although, it would be interesting to see if his mind changes in the scenario that clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona come calling.
Of course, Manchester City are an attractive destination for any player in football today. They have a winning project there and have dominated the Premier League for many years now. And Pep Guardiola has a proven track record of improving players.
Now, it remains to be seen whether the Premier League club are interested in Savinho. But considering how he has been performing this season, it would be a surprise if they have not taken notice yet.
