Manchester City are the reigning European champions. On their way to the title, they got the better of Real Madrid last season. And it would not be a big surprise if the two teams end up meeting at some point this season as well. It is not just on the pitch that they could find themselves competing though.

Manchester City and Real Madrid are two of the most attractive destinations in all of Europe right now. Thus, the two often end up competing for the signature of the same players as well.

The latest name on that list appears to be that of a ‘generational’ talent. But signing him away from Bayern Munich is expected to be quite the task.

As reported by Fichajes, Manchester City have joined the race for Jamal Musiala. Real Madrid are another team also interested in signing the German international.

Of course, Bayern Munich are not expected to be keen on letting go of Musiala anytime soon. He is viewed as a key player for them and remarkably, he is still just 20 years of age.

Musiala dazzled with his performances for Germany at the last World Cup as well even though they were knocked out from the group stages. He was arguably their only bright spot in the tournament.

Musiala has not made a great start to this campaign. It is worth pointing out that he has dealt with some fitness issues as well. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has provided an assist and scored no goals in 5 appearances this season till now.

Musiala’s current deal does run out in the summer of 2026. Thus, if he does not agree an extension soon, Bayern Munich may have a decision to make. It is expected to take a transfer fee north of €100 million to sign him.

More. Two Real Madrid superstars are unhappy right now. light
