Real Madrid got themselves a 3-2 win from a tough away fixture in Italy. Vinicius Jr got on the scoresheet to the delight of many while there seems to be no stopping Jude Bellingham, who is playing like one of the best players in the world right now if not the very best. The winner ended up being an own goal from Alex Meret though.

All things considered, Real Madrid would have been very happy with the result. This was supposed to be the toughest game of the group for them and they came out with a win from it.

A lot of players got a lot of plaudits, but there was one who failed to make an impact on the game. It was none other than Rodrygo, who has had a difficult start to the season.

After scoring in the opening game of the campaign against Athletic Bilbao, he has not found the back of the net again. At the moment, he is on a nine-game goalless run and it might be to start getting worried, as it looks like the new 4-4-2 formation does not suit him at all.

Rodrygo struggled to make any sort of an impact in the final third of the pitch against Napoli. And Real Madrid fans were quick to point out his issues on social media.

At the moment, it seems like Rodrygo is dealing with a lack of confidence, as his goalless run continues to increase. On top of that, it looks like he might be having trouble dealing with his new role as well, as part of the front two in the 4-4-2.

This was the first season in his Real Madrid career that Rodrygo was placed as a starter from the get-go. Unfortunately, he has failed to take the opportunity. It might be time for Joselu to be the regular starter.
