Real Madrid might need to find a new manager in the near future with Carlo Ancelotti expected to leave at the end of this season. The Italian legend’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2024 and he has been heavily linked with the Brazil national team job lately. Let’s see how things play out.
Ancelotti has received quite a bit of criticism from Real Madrid fans in recent times and a lot of that might be misplaced. The fact of the matter is that the club have won every trophy possible since his return in the summer of 2021. Also, they currently sit atop La Liga and their Champions League group.
One also has to recognise the cards that Ancelotti has been dealt during his second stint at Real Madrid. The squad has little to no depth and is filled with youngsters.
It is hard to think of many managers who could have done as successful a job as Ancelotti has done considering the circumstances. And Real Madrid might have a tougher time finding a replacement for him than most people expect.
Real Madrid legend out of race to replace Ancelotti
Raul is someone who has been linked with the Real Madrid job for a while. He is currently the manager of the Castilla team. There is bad news for those hoping to see the club legend in the managerial hot seat though.
As reported by SPORT, it is ruled out that Raul is a candidate to succeed Ancelotti. Castilla’s results this season are not helping him.
Raul had almost guided Castilla to promotion last season. But the team seems to have gone flat this time around. They are 13th in their league table right now and have picked up just 8 points from the first 7 games.
That start seems to have ended Raul’s chances of becoming Real Madrid manager in the near future. He has been linked with numerous top-flight clubs in the recent past though and should not have a lack of options if he does choose to leave.
