Real Madrid need to sign a striker as soon as possible. The club never really went on to replace Karim Benzema in the summer as the Frenchman brought an end to his glorious 14-year career at Santiago Bernabeu to join Al-Ittihad. Joselu was brought in on loan from Espanyol for the season and to be fair to the Spaniard, he has been fantastic and exceeded most people’s expectations.

That being said, Joselu does not feel like a long-term solution. Not only is he only on loan but he is also 33 years of age. Also, he is the only genuine centre-forward Real Madrid have right now.

So, Real Madrid could definitely do with another striker. And one player they seem to have in their sights is currently leading the Bundesliga scoring charts by some distance.

As reported by Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Real Madrid are interested in Serhou Guirassy. The 27-year-old striker has emerged as a viable target amid his incredible start this season for VfB Stuttgart.

Guirassy has been fantastic at the start of this season. He has already scored 14 goals in 8 games in this campaign. 13 of them have come in the Bundesliga and he is 5 ahead of second-placed Harry Kane in the scoring charts.

Guirassy is 27 years of age and appears to be entering his prime now. He has always been a decent striker with an ability to find the back of the net, but we have never seen this kind of productivity from him.

It remains to be seen whether this is just a good run of form or something that he can keep producing consistently moving forward. Of course, it would be unrealistic to expect him to keep scoring at this rate. But let’s see how the rest of his season goes.
