Real Madrid need to add to their options in the forward areas in the future. The club have made a tremendous start to the season, winning ten of their eleven games till now. But then, they were great at the beginning of the previous campaign as well. But as the months rolled on, their form fizzled out as injuries and fatigue started to take their toll on a thin squad. Let’s see if something similar happens this time around.

One player who has been linked with a possible move to Real Madrid for some time now is Dani Olmo. The Spaniard is expected to leave RB Leipzig in the future and a number of clubs are rumoured to hold an interest in him.

Olmo was at La Masia for several years. As reported by Sport Bild (via Mundo Deportivo), the Spanish international is clear that his destination must be Barcelona.

However, it is believed that he is not closing any doors yet and Barcelona will have to get a deal done first. There are suggestions that Olmo has a €60 million release clause in his contract.

Olmo had made a great start to this campaign. He scored a hattrick against Bayern Munich to win RB Leipzig the DFL-Supercup. He also had three goal contributions in the opening three Bundesliga games before picking up an injury. He has been out of action since.

The 25-year-old has a contract that runs until the summer of 2027. So, RB Leipzig will not be under any real pressure to part ways with Olmo in the near future, if they do not receive a satisfactory offer.

Olmo is believed to prefer a return to Barcelona. But the Catalan club’s financial situation means that a move could be complicated and open the door to other interested teams like Real Madrid.
