Recently there has been a fresh update on Vinicius Junior’s contract situation with Real Madrid. The club and the player were believed to have reached an agreement over a new deal going as far back as last season even though nothing official has been announced yet. That has left many fans worried.

The Brazilian forward has emerged as one of Real Madrid’s most important players over the past couple of years. So they need to make sure that he stays at the club for the foreseeable future.

Despite no announcement, it does look like a deal is already in place. The club just need to make it official.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, the new deal at Real Madrid was to be unveiled last week but it was just delayed due to internal timing. There are no issues or problems. The announcement is coming soon for a new long-term contract. The release clause is set at €1 billion.

After Karim Benzema’s unexpected departure at the end of last season, Vinicius was seen as Los Blancos’ new leader up top. However, another Brazilian youngster, Rodrygo, is finding life difficult as he has only found the back of the net once this season so far and could be benched by Joselu moving forward.

Joselu is having a great spell at the club and exceeded most people’s expectations when he arrived. But unfortunately, the Spaniard is only on a loan deal and is 33 years of age already.

Another summer signing, Arda Guler, is yet to make his debut for the club. He has already spent a couple of spells nursing injuries this season. Amidst all this, it is not hard to understand why the club would want Vinicius Jr to stay on for years to come.
