Real Madrid player set to miss El Clasico vs Barcelona
Real Madrid have been dealing with their fair share of injury problems this season already and we are just in the middle of October. Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao are set to miss the majority of the campaign if not all of it. On the other hand, we have not even seen Arda Guler in action since his summer move, as he has had to deal with a couple of injuries already. And there are several others who have had to spend time on the sidelines.
One of them is Dani Ceballos. The Spanish midfielder impressed last season and earned himself a contract extension.
Ceballos picked up an injury during pre-season and missed the start of the campaign. He had returned recently and was getting some minutes off the bench. But now, he has suffered another fitness issue.
As reported by The Athletic, Ceballos is expected to miss the upcoming El Clasico against Barcelona due to a muscle injury. The Real Madrid player has suffered a micro tear in the rectus muscle in his right leg.

The good news is that the injury is believed to be minor. Ceballos will have to spend seven to ten days on the sidelines though, which will result in him missing multiple important games.
We have already seen him being left out of Real Madrid’s squad for the recent game against Sevilla, which ended in a 1-1 draw. The upcoming two games, against SC Braga and Barcelona, might come a bit too early for Ceballos as well.
Now, to be very honest, Ceballos was not expected to start against Barcelona. But having him in the squad still does give Carlo Ancelotti another option. The Italian does value the Spaniard, as we have seen him being brought on as a substitute regularly.
