David Beckham picks Real Madrid hero over Manchester United legends
David Beckham enjoyed quite a glittering career and remains one of the biggest names in football to this day, even though it has been over a decade since he retired. The Englishman’s career started at Manchester United, where he won numerous trophies as part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s legendary side. He would also find himself as part of Real Madrid’s iconic Galacticos team. And he also represented clubs like AC Milan and PSG.
Thus, Beckham shared the pitch with some of the greatest to ever put on a pair of boots. Yet, it looks like there is one Real Madrid player who stands out amongst the rest.
Beckham played with the likes of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo Nazario, Raul, Iker Casillas, Luis Figo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Andrea Pirlo, Paolo Maldini, Clarence Seedorf, Kaka, Thiago Silva, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, John Terry, Wayne Rooney and many more legends through the course of his career. But in the eyes of the Englishman, it looks like Zinedine Zidane was the best.
As reported by the Mirror, Beckham told Gary Neville on his ‘The Overlap’ YouTube show:
"“The best player I’ve ever played with, apart from you, [was] Zidane.”"

Zidane is certainly one of the best ever to play football. Interestingly, he is not the most decorated in the history of the game.
At club level, he won a couple of Serie A titles with Juventus and a La Liga with Real Madrid. He also won the Champions League with Los Blancos. His biggest honours came with the French national team, as he won the World Cup in 1998 and the EUROs in 2000.
In terms of silverware, he might not have as extensive a resume as many other greats. But that has never stopped Zidane from being considered amongst one of the all-time bests. He certainly deserves it.
