Real Madrid do not have a very deep squad at this point in time. But Carlo Ancelotti certainly has done a good job of getting the best out of the options that he has available to him. The Italian manager has stuck to giving chances to a group of players who have consistently produced results for him. That has also meant that some are not playing a lot of football right now.
One such player is Brahim Diaz. The Spaniard spent the previous three seasons out on loan at AC Milan and established himself as a key player for the Italian giants during his time there.
There was talk of AC Milan signing Brahim on a permanent basis as well as several Premier League giants being interested in him. But ultimately, he ended up returning to Real Madrid.
Brahim was hyped as pretty much a new signing. But so far, things have not worked out for him at all and there are already question marks about the Spaniard’s long-term future at Real Madrid.
Real Madrid player will try to leave if Ancelotti stays
As reported by SPORT, it is difficult for Brahim to leave in January. But in the summer he will seek new horizons, especially if Ancelotti continues to lead the team.
The 24-year-old has played very little football till now. According to stats from Transfermarkt, Brahim has scored 1 goal in 9 appearances and 118 minutes of action this season.
That is surely not even close to what he would have been expecting when he returned from his loan spell at AC Milan. Interestingly, Brahim has scored in the only game that he has started for Real Madrid.
It is hard to see Brahim’s playing time increasing though. Especially when you consider that Arda Guler will be in the mix soon after returning from injury.
