Jude Bellingham simply can’t stop scoring for Real Madrid. The Englishman had drawn a rare blank against Sevilla at the weekend but was back on the scoresheet as Los Blancos took on SC Braga in the UEFA Champions League away in Portugal. It was a calm and composed finish from the man wearing number 5. In fact, it was a bit scary how easy he made it look.

Bellingham has been the signing of the summer by some distance. One could argue that he is the best player in the world right now.

Bellingham has been breaking or equalling records left, right and centre since he joined Real Madrid. And he has got his name in the history books once again.

With his goal against SC Braga, Bellingham became only the second Real Madrid player to score in his first three Champions League games for the club. The first was Christian Karembeu.

Karembeu is a name that does not get enough mention these days, He was part of two Champions League-winning teams at Real Madrid. Also, he won the World Cup as well as the EUROs with France.

Yes, Karembeu might not have been one of the faces of those teams. But he certainly had a role to play for them and their success shows that he did it quite well.

Karembeu scored in his first three Champions League games for Real Madrid. He joined the club in January of 1998 from Sampdoria and scored in both legs of their quarter-final tie against Bayer Leverkusen and then the first leg of the semis against Borussia Dortmund. Incredibly, he scored just one more goal for the club in his two-and-a-half years at Santiago Bernabeu.

While Karembeu might not have been one of the faces of the club, Bellingham is showing the ability to take up that spot. Let’s see what the future holds.
