The first El Clasico of the season is less than two days away as Real Madrid will look to remain atop the La Liga table. They are just a point ahead of FC Barcelona, who are looking to defend their league title. The likes of Girona and Atletico Madrid are in the mix as well. Things are certainly getting interesting.

It is hard to pick a favourite going into the first El Clasico of this campaign. Real Madrid have been the better team so far but their recent record against FC Barcelona is not great. Carlo Ancelotti’s side also lost against Atletico Madrid earlier in the campaign and there are concerns about whether their football will translate to the big games.

Real Madrid fans were handed another worry earlier, as there were fears that Jude Bellingham had picked up an injury in the game against SC Braga. The Englishman has been their player of the season so far and him missing El Clasico would be a major problem for Ancelotti’s team.

Thankfully, it looks like that won’t be the case. As reported by 90min, Bellingham told RTVE:

"“I will be in the Clasico.”"

That will be music to the ears of the Real Madrid supporters. There is zero doubt that they are a better team with Bellingham than without him.

The Englishman was signed for a transfer package around €134 million from Borussia Dortmund this summer and he was the Bundesliga Player of the Season for the 2022/23 campaign. Yet, Bellingham has managed to exceed all expectations at Real Madrid.

Bellingham is certainly a special talent and his being available for the El Clasico would be a headache for Barcelona. The Englishman has been scoring much more often than not and do not be surprised to see his name on the scoresheet this weekend.
