There were many who wondered if Arsenal had enjoyed a one-off season last time around and would take a step back this time around. So far, that does not seem to be the case. Mikel Arteta’s side are in contention for the Premier League title once again. That does not mean that there are not areas where they could still improve. And a Real Madrid player appears to be one of their transfer targets for next season.
Declan Rice has done quite well since arriving at Arsenal over the summer. But many believe that he could be even better if played a bit further up the pitch.
As a result, Arsenal are expected to go after another midfielder in the future. And it looks like they have a Real Madrid starter on their radar.
As reported by Calciomercato, Arsenal are looking for a midfielder for next season. Two footballers are in the sights in the form of Aurelien Tchouameni of Real Madrid and Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad.
Arsenal want to sign Real Madrid player next season
Tchouameni was signed by Real Madrid from AS Monaco in the summer of 2022. He had an up-and-down debut campaign for the club.
He has been helped by the change in formation this season though. The Frenchman had been successful in establishing himself as a nailed-on starter in Carlo Ancelotti’s side before picking up an injury recently which is expected to keep him out for the next couple of months.
It is easy to see why Arsenal might be interested in signing someone with Tchouameni’s quality. He could take their team to the next level. But at the same time, it is hard to imagine that Real Madrid would be open to the idea of parting ways with the Frenchman anytime soon. Let’s see what the future holds.
