Real Madrid continued their fantastic start to the season with a 2-1 win away against FC Barcelona. Considering their earlier loss to Atletico Madrid and their recent record against Xavi’s team, there were a lot of doubts coming into the game, but Carlo Ancelotti’s side answered the critics by coming from behind to clinch all three points. Jude Bellingham was the difference-maker once again.

Bellingham has been excellent since joining Real Madrid in the summer. He took his game up a level against Barcelona, scoring a fantastic brace. The first was a strike from distance that is in contention for goal of the season. The second showed his instincts in the box, as he was at the right place at the right time.

While Bellingham grabbed all the headlines, and rightfully so, one could argue that it was the introduction of Eduardo Camavinga that turned the game around. The Frenchman was left on the bench but was brought on in the 52nd minute to replace Ferland Mendy.

Until that point, Real Madrid had been the second-best team in the game and by some distance. They ended up growing into the match though and won by the end of it. A lot of that was down to the energy and quality that Camavinga brought to the team in the second half.

As reported by Relevo, the president of Real Madrid does not like that Camavinga plays at left-back. Neither does the footballer.

But one cannot deny that he is excellent in that role. In fact, he might be the best option in that area of the pitch at Real Madrid right now, despite not being a recognised left-back.

With Aurelien Tchouameni picking up an injury that is set to keep him out for around two months, Camavinga is expected to take up his role in midfield though. So do not expect to see him playing as a left-back much in the immediate future.
