Real Madrid are continuously surrounded by rumours, whether it be about potential incomings or outgoings. They do not have a lot of depth at the moment so it is unsurprising that a number of players are being linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu. On the other hand, there are a few who could potentially head in the opposite direction.

The change in the system this season has produced results. Real Madrid have lost just one game so far. So, there is little reason for Carlo Ancelotti to go back to a 4-3-3 formation.

There are some players who have struggled to come to grips with their new roles though. Rodrygo is someone who seems to have taken several steps back this season.

This is the first time that the Brazilian international has started a season as a regular starter for Real Madrid. But if his form does not improve, it feels like only a matter of time before he finds himself back on the bench. Rodrygo has looked like a shadow of himself and it looks like a transfer exit next summer is not out of the question either.

As reported by Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Rodrygo might not be at Real Madrid beyond the 2023/24 campaign as the club are considering parting ways with him in the next summer transfer window. They will look for a transfer fee around €70 million for him to leave.

Rodrygo has been considered one of the key parts of Real Madrid’s future for a while. But his recent downturn in form seems to have raised questions about that,

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Rodrygo. Especially if the club end up making additions in the forward areas in future transfer windows and the Brazilian international’s underwhelming run of form continues throughout the season.
