Manchester United appear to take one step forward and two back under every manager. That has been the case since Sir Alex Ferguson retired back in 2013, more than a decade ago. Several managers have come and gone since, including quite a few big-name ones. But nobody has brought sustainable or significant success to Old Trafford. They have signed quite a few Real Madrid players during this period of time.

Angel Di Maria joined them back in 2014, Raphael Varane in the summer of 2021 and Casemiro last year. All proven winners from their time at Real Madrid. But nobody has been able to replicate their best form there.

Now, it looks like Manchester United have another Real Madrid player in their sights. It is none other than Vinicius Junior.

As reported by Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Manchester United would love to have Vinicius in their ranks. The Premier League giants are ready to offer him wages of over €20 million per year.

Vinicius is one of the best players in the world right now, even though his start to the 2023/24 campaign has not been the greatest. A big reason behind that is the Brazilian international’s central role in Carlo Ancelotti’s new 4-4-2 system.

There is no doubt about his quality though. And almost every club in Europe would jump at the opportunity to sign Vinicius if it was presented to them.

It is not hard to see why Manchester United would be interested in Vinicius. That being said, it is hard to see him leave Real Madrid anytime soon. He signed a long-term contract extension with the club recently. And it does not feel like the Brazilian is someone who would head to Old Trafford at this stage of his career, considering the lack of success that the Premier League giants have had in recent years.
