Bayern Munich are one of the most in-form teams in Europe right now with Harry Kane scoring for fun. If they can continue on this path, they will be competing for both the Bundesliga and the Champions League this season. But it looks like one of their key players, Alphonso Davies, is eyeing a potential move to Real Madrid in the future.
Davies is a very important part of this Bayern Munich team and has been getting consistent minutes there. It feels like he has been around for a long time but the Canadian international is still just 23 years of age and a long way away from his prime.
His current deal with Bayern Munich runs until the summer of 2025 and he is yet to agree an extension with the German club. There has also been constant speculation about a possible move to Real Madrid.
As reported by SPORT1, Davies has not yet made a final decision about his future. But he is leaning towards a move to Real Madrid next summer.
Davies leaning towards leaving Bayern Munich to join Real Madrid
Bayern Munich would surely be keen to avoid a repeat of the David Alaba situation. Thus, if they are unable to agree to an extension with Davies, they might very well consider parting ways with him next summer rather than risk seeing him leave for nothing a year later.
Someone like Davies would be an excellent addition for Real Madrid. The club are in need of a long-term left-back. Ferland Mendy has struggled with fitness issues for the last few seasons now. On the other hand, Fran Garcia was not convincing enough after being given the starting spot earlier this season.
Davies is someone with the capacity to hold on to that spot for the next decade to come. Of course, the Canadian international has had his own fitness issues over the years too.
