Fabrizio Romano offers Alphonso Davies to Real Madrid update
Real Madrid signed Fran Garcia in the summer from Rayo Vallecano but so far, he has not been very impressive. The Spaniard found himself as the first-choice starter early on in the season but was inconsistent and did not manage to nail down his spot in the team. On the other hand, Ferland Mendy continues to deal with frequent fitness issues and is expected to depart soon.
As a result, Real Madrid still need to sign a long-term left-back. Alphonso Davies is someone who they have been linked with for a while now.
There have been some positive rumours coming out of Germany in recent weeks as well. Davies’ current deal with Bayern Munich runs until the summer of 2025 and he is yet to put pen to paper on an extension.
Bayern Munich will surely be keen not to repeat the David Alaba situation, with the Austrian leaving as a free agent a couple of years back. Thus, Davies joining Real Madrid next summer does not seem impossible at all. And Fabrizio Romano has given an update on the situation.
Fabrizio offers Davies to Real Madrid update
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Davies remains one of the main targets for Real Madrid in 2024. He is not leaving in January but Los Blancos keep monitoring him for the next summer window.
Someone like Davies would be an excellent signing for Real Madrid. He is still just 23 years of age and could be the starting left-back for the next decade to come.
With his contract quickly running down, Bayern Munich are expected to be open to the idea of parting ways with Davies if they cannot agree an extension with him soon. That might be a golden opportunity for Real Madrid. But several top Premier League clubs are believed to be interested in the Canadian internaional left-back as well.
