Drake is one of the biggest artists in history. He holds a number of all-time records to his name and has some of the most successful songs ever on his resume. The Canadian released his latest album “For All the Dogs” earlier this year and he has paid tribute to a Real Madrid legend in one of the music videos.

Time flies fast. It is almost one year since Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo combined for their instantly iconic picture of playing chess together for Louis Vuitton, ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

Arguably the two most famous human beings on the planet, the picture has garnered more than 75 million likes on both their accounts combined just on Instagram. It is certainly one of the most instantly recognisable photographs of modern times.

Drake recently put out a music video for a song which also features J. Cole. In it, the two rap legends have recreated the picture of Messi and Ronaldo playing chess together.

Many had hoped for a World Cup final between Portugal and Argentina. And on paper, it was very possible too.

Unfortunately, the stars did not align. While Argentina did go on to win the World Cup, most probably crowning Messi as the greatest player of all time as a result, Portugal did not have a great tournament.

Neither did Ronaldo individually. His only goal came from a spot kick and he lost his place in the starting XI midway through the tournament. Portugal would ultimately lose to Morocco in the quarter-finals, one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history.

It clearly was a fairy tale ending for one and not the other. That is just football. But that does not change the fact that they are two of the best ever.
