But the fact of the matter is that he is no longer the player that he was during his peak. Thus, Los Blancos need to find a long-term successor for the Spaniard.

They have been linked with quite a few names in recent times, who could be interesting options for sure. Reece James of Chelsea, Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool and Achraf Hakimi of PSG are all rumoured to be on their radar.

Jeremie Frimpong is another player whose name has been doing the rounds of the Real Madrid rumour mill for some time. But there is competition for his signature as well.

As reported by depor, Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in Frimpong as well. Real Madrid are reluctant to make an offer exceeding €35 million.

Frimpong is arguably the most effective full-back in world football right now. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 5 goals and provided 7 assists in 16 appearances and 1125 minutes of football this season so far.

That is a goal contribution about every 94 minutes. Most strikers in the world would be proud of that kind of output.

Frimpong was heavily linked with a move away from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer as well but surprisingly it did not happen. It feels like only a matter of time before he heads out though. Where will he end up? Time shall tell. But the Dutchman clearly has no lack of options.
