Real Madrid have been linked with a lot of players in recent times and it is understandable why. One of their biggest problems at the moment is their lack of depth and it has not been helped by the fact that a number of their best performers are out injured. Under ideal circumstances, Los Blancos would strengthen their squad as soon as possible.

That is not how it has always worked out at Real Madrid though. The club have been very cautious when it comes to making signings in recent years.

Marcos Leonardo is a name that has been doing the rounds of the Real Madrid rumour mill in recent times. The Santos striker has been one of the top scorers in Brazilian Serie A this season and he looks set to be on the move in January.

On the other hand, Dusan Vlahovic is someone who has been linked with Real Madrid for years now. Despite his mediocre run at Juventus, rumours have suggested that he remains on the Spanish giants’ radar.

Real Madrid are not the only club keeping an eye out on those two though. As reported by FootballTransfers, Arsenal are weighing up moves for both Vlahovic and Leonardo.

Leonardo’s time at Santos is expected to come to an end in January. He has been linked with almost every top European club though. So signing him won’t be easy, for either Real Madrid or Arsenal. It could take a transfer fee around £20 million to sign the Brazilian striker.

On the other hand, Vlahovic’s situation is somewhat different. He was signed by Juventus in early 2022 for a transfer fee believed to be around €80 million. He has not met the expectations so far. The Serbian did make a bright start this season but his form has faded.
