Real Madrid’s biggest issue right now is their long list of key players out with injuries. Thibaut Courtois tore his ACL before the season started. Eder Militao did the same in the first game of the campaign. Arda Guler has yet to make his debut since arriving in the summer and is already spending his third spell on the sidelines. Starters like Vinicius Jr, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni are out injured for the foreseeable future as well.

The latest of those injuries was suffered by Vinicius. He had to be substituted while representing Brazil and there are suggestions that he will be out for around two months.

Real Madrid’s options up top were limited, to begin with. And Vinicius’ injury has made things even more difficult for Carlo Ancelotti and company.

As reported by TUTTOmercatoWEB, Real Madrid are considering the idea of bringing in an experienced and reliable striker in January. They could go as far as offering €15 million for Mauro Icardi.

Icardi was considered one of the best strikers in world football during his time at Inter Milan. His run at PSG did not prove to be nearly as fruitful though.

Icardi has rediscovered his best form since moving to Galatasaray though. The Argentine is scoring almost at a rate of a goal a game right now.

Also, he is still just 30 years of age. So, Icardi should have plenty of football left in the tank. Galatasaray were believed to have signed him from PSG for a €10 million transfer fee. Would they be willing to let him go for a figure around €15 million?

It remains to be seen if Real Madrid end up signing a striker in January. But it would be a major help if they strengthen the options available to Ancelotti going forward.
