Real Madrid have been monitoring a lot of wonderkids in recent times, going against their previous formula of signing established superstars. Players like Vini Jr, Rodrygo Goes, Reinier Jesus and Endrick are some young Brazilian youngsters signed by Los Blancos over the past few years, while Vinicius Tobias has been brought in on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Another rising Brazilian talent, Marcos Leonardo, might be seen wearing the royal white shirt of Real Madrid next year if everything goes according to plan. His fantastic form at Santos has attracted the attention of many clubs, Los Blancos being one of them.

Leonardo has scored 13 goals in the Brazilian Serie A so far this season. Only three players have scored more than the 20-year-old and none younger than him.

As reported by GOAL, Santos would accept a proposal along the lines offered by AS Roma in the past. It was €13 million upfront plus bonuses that would raise the value of the package to up to €18 million. The player’s staff has already passed on the information to Newcastle United and Real Madrid.

Santos were not ready to let Leonardo go in the summer, as players like Angelo Gabriel and Deivid Washington left the club and joined Chelsea in the same window. Their new stance is to fulfil a promise made earlier this year.

Real Madrid could benefit from the transfer in January as their injury problems have made it difficult for Carlo Ancelotti and company. The arrival of Leonardo could also be the answer to their troubles in front of goal since Karim Benzema’s departure.

Let’s see if Real Madrid end up making a move for Leonardo in January or not. There does not seem to be any lack of interest in his signature though.
