€40 million Arsenal target comments on Real Madrid return
Real Madrid signed Fran Garcia in the summer from Rayo Vallecano but he has not been impressive enough to nail down a spot in the starting XI. On the other hand, Ferland Mendy’s future at the club is in doubt as he has continued to struggle with fitness problems this season as well. As a result, left-back remains a position where Los Blancos might need to strengthen in the future.
Alphonso Davies is believed to be Real Madrid’s top target to strengthen at left-back. But they must have alternative transfer targets as well, especially with Premier League clubs believed to be in the Bayern Munich player too.
Miguel Gutierrez of Girona could be an interesting alternative. He came up through the ranks at Real Madrid but never really got consistent playing time at the senior level. He would end up joining Girona and has been very impressive there, being one of the key reasons behind their unlikely title challenge this season.
Gutierrez has been linked with a possible return to Santiago Bernabeu. But for the time being, he seems to be thinking about the task at hand at Girona only.

As reported by MARCA, Gutierrez said when asked whether he dreams or thinks about returning to Real Madrid:
"“I don’t like to talk about the future since in football there are never plans. I focus on the day to day, I am happy at Girona, the group is spectacular and I only think about working with this team, having a great year and we have a good squad to achieve it.”"
Real Madrid were linked with both Gutierrez and Garcia, before signing the latter. The club are believed to have a 50% sell-on clause for the Girona left-back as well.
Real Madrid are not the only ones after the signature of the left-back, whose current contract is believed to run until the summer of 2027. His form seems to have caught the eye of many others. As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, several clubs are monitoring Gutierrez. Arsenal have also recently sent their scouts to track the Girona ace.
