Chelsea have been signing players left, right and centre since their change in ownership but not much seems to be working for them at the moment. The Blues sit at 10th in the Premier League table and finished 12th in the previous campaign. That is almost unbelievable and one has to question their transfer policy. And it looks like one of their rumoured targets wants to join Real Madrid.

Since joining Napoli in the summer of 2022, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has established himself as one of the best young talents in European football. He was a key reason behind Napoli winning the Serie A title last season.

Naturally, the Georgian international has drawn the attention of many top European clubs. One of them is believed to be Chelsea.

There have been some rumours lately which have suggested that Chelsea are the frontrunners to sign Kvaratskhelia. It would take a transfer fee north of €100 million to convince Napoli to part ways with their star performer. But it looks like the 22-year-old dreams of joining Real Madrid someday.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Kvaratskhelia’s father Badri said to Geo Team:

"“Khvicha always dreamed and still dreams of playing for Real Madrid. I am sure about it.”"

He further went on to add:

"“For Khvicha, playing vs Real Madrid was special. In my family everyone is a Real Madrid supporter, except me.”"

In the past, Kvaratskhelia has talked about Guti being his childhood idol. So, it would not be a surprise for him to dream about playing for Real Madrid someday.

Would signing Kvaratskhelia make sense for Real Madrid though? The Georgian international plays on the left flank. But Los Blancos already have Vinicius Junior. On top of that, it is very possible that the club could end up signing Kylian Mbappe in the future too.

So, it is hard to see where Kvaratskhelia would fit into the Los Blancos setup. That being said, football changes fast, so never say never.
