Rodrygo made a lot of headlines in recent times when he had an exchange of words with Lionel Messi during the game between Brazil and Argentina, which the world champions ended up winning 1-0. There has been a lot of curiosity regarding the incident involving the Real Madrid player and the Barcelona icon.

Of course, there is always a lot riding on the result of a Brazil vs Argentina game. And this match was even more charged than usual.

There have been several reports discussing what was potentially said between Messi and Rodrygo on the day. But neither side has come out and confirmed anything.

In fact, Rodrygo does not seem keen to discuss the matter further. As reported by GOAL, when asked about the incident, the Real Madrid player told the Spanish press:

"“I can’t talk about that. Madrid won’t let me.”"

It seemed to be more of a cheeky response from Rodrygo rather than a serious one. At the same time, one has to wonder whether there have been any discussions about the matter at Real Madrid.

The most important thing is that Rodrygo is back in form. The Brazilian youngster had made a slow start to the season and a lot of fans were calling for him to be dropped from the team.

But now, Rodrygo appears to have discovered the form of his life. He has scored in each of his past three Champions League games. On the other hand, over his previous two La Liga matches, he has scored four goals and provided three assists.

That is quite the run of form, to say the least, especially for a player who had been looking completely out of his depth in his new role not too long ago. In fact, he had an 11-game run in the league without a goal after scoring in the opening matchday of the season against Athletic Bilbao.
