Real Madrid signed the Bundesliga Player of the Season last season, bringing in Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in a transfer package believed to be around €134 million. It has worked out very well for the Spanish giants to say the least as the club’s new number 5 has made a record-breaking start to life at Santiago Bernabeu and might be the best player in the world right now.

Naturally, it would make sense for Real Madrid to keep an eye out for other top talents from the Bundesliga as well. And one Bayer Leverkusen standout has been linked with the club for quite some time now.

Florian Wirtz is considered by many as the biggest talent in German football right now. And his start to the season has been good enough to back up those claims.

Wirtz has been one of the key reasons why Bayer Leverkusen sit atop the Bundesliga table right now. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 6 goals and provided 10 assists in 19 appearances this season till now.

It is understandable why Real Madrid might be interested in signing the 20-year-old German international. But it looks like he might have an eye on joining Thomas Tuchel and company at Bayern Munich instead.

As tweeted out by Florian Plettenberg, Wirtz is likely to stay at Bayer Leverkusen next season. A transfer is definitely planned for 2025. Bayern Munich wants him and the 20-year-old then prefers a move to the Bundesliga giants.

Judging from this update, it looks like Wirtz is more likely to remain in Germany when or if he leaves Bayer Leverkusen. Of course, Real Madrid are an attractive destination for any player and if they did make a push to sign him, it is very possible that they could make it happen.
