As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have shortlisted three center-backs for the upcoming summer transfer window with those names being Dean Huijsen, William Saliba, and Ibrahima Konate.
If one thing has been evident during this season for Real Madrid it is that the defense is in dyer need of reinforcements. The backline has been leaking goals for fun all season conceding far more goals than they did last year.
A combination of injuries as well as overall drops in form from some players has caused Real Madrid to assess their options in the transfer window in an effort to revamp their defense for the future to prevent another disastrous season like this year.
All signs point to Trent Alexander-Arnold arriving on a free transfer as the first of what could be many defensive reinforcements. The Englishman will no doubt help solidify the backline and in addition to him the club have listed three dream central defenders for the upcoming summer transfer window.
Dean Huijsen is the most likely option for Real Madrid
Accompanied by the arrivals of Xabi Alonso and Trent Alexander-Arnold in the summer, signing any one of these three defenders would make a statement by Los Blancos. While the ultimate dream would be to sign all three, it is likely only one will be signed by the club, but which one?
Real Madrid seem to have their eyes locked on one of the three with that being Dean Huijsen. Romano reports that the Spanish international is keen on joining the club and he has a £50 million release clause that becomes active in the summer.
Saliba is a dream target for Los Blancos however given his contract with Arsenal and his hefty asking price, that transfer has been put on the backburner by the club as they pursue their top target.
