Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme is trying to build a new sporting project for the club and bring people on board to vote him so that he can unseat Florentino Perez, which is a task so tall that it is just about impossible.
But he has been claiming consistently that he has two big players planned for Real Madrid, superstar level signings beyond Rodri who can transform the club. One is apparently on the Spanish national team and the other is a foreign player. So to take a stab at what he has planned, here are three superstars Riquelme could be planning on bringing to Madrid from outside Spain.
Inter Milan LB Federico Dimarco
Federico Dimarco's numbers for Serie A champions Inter Milan were so good that they almost do not seem even human for a left back, even a left wing back, who defends and play as hard as the Italian international does. He scored seven goals with 17 assists for the Nerazzurri, bombing up and down the pitch and showing a level of quality with his final ball as a passer and shooter that would even make Trent Alexander-Arnold jealous. If Enrique Riquelme could bring him opposite Trent on the flanks, Real Madrid would be scoring more goals and assists from the fullbacks than most other teams do on the wings.
Bayern Munich CM Joshua Kimmich
Real Madrid have been in the rumors for Joshua Kimmich for years, but Bayern Munich have obviously never been interested in selling the German superstar. The one time Kimmich could have left was when Thomas Tuchel was in charge, as the English national manager picked on Kimmich as his latest victim to bully and assert his own authority. But after Tuchel mercifully left, Kimmich has been back to being one of the best midfielders in Europe. Imagine the scenario of Kimmich finally arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu. His leadership, defensive quality, playmaking, and technical ability would give Real their best overall controller since Toni Kroos himself.
Newcastle CM Bruno Guimaraes
Real Madrid have been all over some big Premier League star midifelders this summer transfer window in Rodri, Enzo Fernandez, and even Sandro Tonali and Alexis Mac Allister. But Bruno Guimaraes has outplayed all these guys since arriving at Newcastle United. He has no weaknesses to his game and is the real heir to Casemiro that Los Blancos have been begging for. Enrique Riquelme signing him would be a major coup.
